Bookings

A non-refundable deposit must be paid at the time of booking of at least 10% to secure your stay at the retreat house

The balance can be paid at any time once you have booked but not less than 4 weeks prior to your stay. Payments by instalments can be arranged if this helps with payment.

All bookings made less than 4 weeks before the date of your stay must be paid in full at the time of booking

The booking will be cancelled if payment is not received within the 4 weeks or at the time of booking for those less than 4 weeks.

To use a voucher or credit note as part of the booking please contact us directly to pay the balance once the deposit has been paid online so that we can redeem this from the total price. Vouchers or credit notes can not be used once a booking has already been paid for.

Payment for other services and activities are due prior to the event, rather than at the time of booking accommodation and are usually paid during your stay. However payment of groceries for self-catering guests will be requested a week before the start of your stay. These payments are all non-refundable.

Personal information provided by guests is stored securely and will be used solely for the purposes of the retreat house. It will not be passed on to anyone else.
Cancellations

It is recommended that you purchase travel insurance at the time of booking to cover cancellation costs

Any cancellations or change in date must be notified in writing as soon as is reasonably possible and will be subject to the following charges:
You can move your dates at no cost, depending on availability, up to 4 weeks before your stay.
To move the date with less than 4 weeks to your stay, will incur a 20% fee of the total booking cost.
If cancelling at least 4 weeks before your stay, you will have a refund for any payments paid apart from the 10% deposit.
If cancelling between 2 and 4 weeks before your stay, you will receive a credit note for the money paid towards your stay (less the 10% deposit) to be put towards a future retreat and is valid for 18 months.
If cancelling less than 2 weeks before your stay you will receive a credit note for 50% of the money paid towards your stay (less the 10% deposit) to be put towards a future retreat and is valid for 18 months.
If you fail to come for your stay without communicating this, then no refund will be given
If fees have increased for the next available retreat stay, you will also be charged the difference in price.

Staff reserve the right to apply the above in all circumstances including bereavement, injury, illness or death

Should you leave during the time of your stay no refund will be given

We will always endeavour to fulfil our commitments to our guests and provide their retreat as booked. However in extenuating circumstances, we reserve the right to cancel or postpone any retreat stay. For this reason we advice all guests to have travel insurance.

No refunds or reductions are made for tours, meals, Anam cara sessions or other services paid for and not taken.

You may pass on your place to another person if this is agreed with the retreat house manager prior to the pre-retreat online session.

You may transfer your credit note or voucher to another person and they can use this to make a booking but this needs to be communicated to the retreat house manager before the booking is made and a transfer can only be made once

Please contact us if you’ve been unable to use your credit note in the allotted time. In some cases, we will be happy to extend the credit note.

Vouchers and credit notes have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash, in whole or in part.

Vouchers and credit notes will be issued electronically to reduce the chance of loss. If we are unable to find a record of the voucher or credit note due to incorrect information or contact details given then the retreat house cannot be held responsible.

Please note that there are no refunds available if you are dissatisfied with the retreat house or any related services.

To the best of our knowledge, the products and service descriptions on the website are accurate and up-to-date, but we are continually working to improve our services and so changes may be made from time to time which have not been reflected on the site. We include images of accommodation on our site to help you with your selection. However, slight variations should be expected. We reserve the right the change the details of the retreat house and what is on offer at any stage if operational needs require this.

The retreat house staff and Hummingbird HOPE are not responsible for changes made to partner services or other services mentioned or linked to our website.

The retreat house staff and Hummingbird HOPE will not be liable to you for any breach of our agreement, for delay or failure to perform if the delay or failure is due to adverse weather, civil commotion, riots, floods, drought, fire, legislation or other cause beyond our reasonable control. This does not affect your statutory rights. If we choose not to enforce a right under our agreement, that decision will not prevent us from enforcing other rights, or the same right on a later occasion. Our agreement will be governed by Grenada law and any disputes will be resolved non-exclusively by Grenada courts.

We take your privacy very seriously and will treat all of your personal information in accordance with all applicable data protection laws in Grenada and our code of ethics as therapists.

Responsibilities of Guests

As part of the booking process you will be asked about any medical conditions and health needs which you have. This enables us to be best informed to know what you might need or be aware of any potential medical issues while you are staying at the retreat house

If you are ill prior to arriving or during the retreat you must inform the retreat house managers. The staff have the right to refuse to allow you to attend the retreat house or take part in activities if they believe is this going to cause detriment to your health or other guest's health. Please be aware if you have an infectious or contagious condition we are within our rights to turn you away without a refund. We cannot put other guests at risk and thus you should not attend if you are unwell.

All emails to you will be forwarded to the address you specify to us. It is important that you provide an accurate and valid email address. We will not be responsible for failure to perform under this agreement where such failure is attributable to a change of address.

We do our best to offer you an enjoyable stay. However if you have any complaints about any services supplied, please refer to our complaints procedure and contact the retreat house manager

Any damage caused by you, directly or indirectly, to the retreat house and gardens, including all contents is to be paid for by yourself directly to the retreat house manager. Lost items such as keys, borrowed books or other items are to be paid for by yourself directly to the retreat house manager

All guests are responsible for their own personal medical requirements, clothing, footwear and any other personal items which they need for the duration of their stay. Hummingbird HOPE and the retreat house staff cannot accept liability for loss or damage to any property belonging to any person or organisation whilst on any part of the site. Lost property will be kept for a maximum of 30 days if no one reports the item missing.

Smoking including the use of vapes and the use of any drugs including marijuana is prohibited within the house and gardens of Hummingbird Retreat House. Alcohol use is permitted in moderation. The retreat house staff reserve the right to ask guests to stop using alcohol and or ask the guests to leave if they are using substances or their alcohol use is deemed to be excessive or could affect other guests.

Guests must accept that attending any of our activities or those run by our partners or other organisations involves some risk, these risks incorporate a broad range and each guest should recognise those risks include personal injury. By attending any activity or using any aspect of the retreat house, the guest agrees to take responsibility for their own safety and wellbeing, assess these risks and to release and discharge Hummingbird HOPE, the retreat house staff and any related workers from any and all claims

Guests often come here to be in silence. If you wish to talk to someone please speak to the staff rather than other guests. We ask guests to respect the privacy and space of other guests. If you do need to talk to another guest please check first if they are willing to talk and only enter into conversation with other guests if this is mutually agreed and in a way that does not disturb other guests.

We ask that you support the ethos of the house by ensuring that this is a quiet and contemplative space and to keep noise down to a minimum.

We ask guests to take care of the amenities and maintain a respectful attitude to the environment and fellow guests, keeping shared spaces clean and tidy at all times.
